Late in 2008, several friends in Bristol started talking about organising a special event for the Deaf Gay community. The idea floated around for a long time ntil they finally decided to go ahead and form a 'steering group' and actually begin planning an event. In June, 2009, that first Deafab weekend took place and drew-in around 130 people from all across the UK and even someone from the US! The weekend was a huge success and the team eagerly started talking about another one for the following year. Afterwards, a 1-hour documentary film was released on DVD, but sadly, there are very few photographs of the event itself. If you have any you would like to share with us, please put them on a CD and send us an email to get our adress!

Planning for the 2010 Deafab Weekend started in March that year with more stuff planned to keep everyone entertained - specifically, the boat trip around Bristol's waterways. This year, the event was both filmed and photographed but no DVD has been produced as of yet

Planning for the 2011 event began much earlier than previous years to allow more time to advertise and reach the widest possible audience. once again, all of the artwork and web design was produced by Mathew White, who has produced other BSL websites for The BDA, Rema and the NDCS - all as a result of the first Deafab website getting amazing reviews from the Deaf community!

So, here, for your enjoyment is all of the design work produced for the event since it began back in 2009. We love getting your feedback on the designs and hope they give you a lot of enjoyment and access to proper information.
